Bumps and Babies Mile For Sport Relief

TV personality Denise Van Outen, who is expecting her first child, has recruited a team of pregnant celebrities and famous new mums to undertake the first ever 'Bumps and Babies Mile' in aid of Sport Relief.
The challenge which takes place over 16 flagship events across the UK on Sunday 21st of March, and asks participants to walk, run, or jog1 mile and raise sponsorship to help some of the worlds most impoverished people - so mum's and bumps get in gear to stretch your legs for a good cause.

Denise said of the Sport Relief event: "A group of heavily pregnant women and power-pramming mums waddling around Battersea Park will probably be quite amusing, but it will prove that anyone and everyone can join in the fun and rise to the challenge by getting sponsored to do the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile."

Natasha Kaplinsky who is also undertaking the mile thanked Denise "for proving that new mums and pregnant ladies can rise to the challenge in our own way" The team of ladies will be out in force to show that everyone can take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, whether they run, walk, or waddle the distance!

Good for Denise - good to get out there with their bumps and babies to prove anyone and everyone can run/walk/waddle a mile - especially for charity! These glamorous famous Mums show that pregnancy is just a normal phase in life and does not rule out normal activities - it is fashionable, healthy, and fun!

I also did the Sport Relief mile pregnant (nearly 7 months). Did the London sport relief mile at 13:45 yesterday. Did the 3 mile option and walked it all in glorious beautiful weather. My friend jogged so when she'd finished her 3rd mile she walked a 4th for my 3rd.
Yes, being pregnant doesn't mean you can't remain active, and we raised £953 on our fundraising page at www.mysportrelief.com/MBTgirls
